Premium vs. Non-Premium Cigars

Stop being a fucking snob! It’s something I tell myself when it comes to cigars. It’s not exactly breaking news when I say the more expensive cigar is the better cigar. My favorite one is the Cohiba Black Robusto (Churchill is a bit too large for my taste). I have tried more expensive ones and obviously cheaper ones but this wonderful carcinogenic creation is my bread and butter.
The virgin puff of a premium cigar is phenomenal and it usually does not have the bitter taste that cheaper cigars have. The taste and flavor are complex and depending on the smoker’s palette, the taste marketed is usually very apparent. Regardless of the proficiency of the light, the cigar is usually lenient when it unravels and doesn’t make the smoker look like a complete amateur.
But now let’s appreciate a cheap cigar. You can get a hell of a puff from a cheap Perdomo! Just smooth! It’s a windy, rainy day or you want to burn a quick one on the golf course; get a cheaper Montecristo. Do most of them taste the same? Yes. But on the bright side, the pairing is pretty simple. Don’t overthink the quality of the coffee or bourbon; fuck it, even the shittiest IPA would work. You don’t need to overthink and analyze the taste. Just enjoy the moment my friend! Cause soon you’re back to the grind.
